The roadshow is being hosted by the Finance Ministry and the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organisations (Fetco) on the sideline of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinatra?s official visit to the United Kingdom during Nov 13-14.
Over 80 institutional investors in the UK have confirmed their participation.
Fetco Chairman Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn saw this as a good opportunity for the Thai public and private sectors to share the stage and answer investors? questions, which should help improve investor confidence.
"Both the public and private sectors are very ready to conduct the presentation and answer questions. We?re utmost confident that this cooperation would succeed in drawing more investment into the capital market and infrastructure projects," Paiboon said.
At the roadshow, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong and Transport Minister Chatchart Sithipan will jointly present Thailand?s planned infrastructure projects worth Bt2.27 trillion as well as the water-management project worth Bt350 billion. Questions from the floor are welcomed.
National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) Secretary General Arkom Termpitayapaisit will give the overview on Thailand?s economic outlook, in light of regional integration, as well as the policy to strengthen domestic consumption which will sustain the economic growth amid global uncertainties.
Finance Permanent Secretary Areepong Bhoocha-oom will brief them on the fiscal and monetary stability. The Public Debt Management Office will offer an insight in the Thai bond market.
Representing the private sector, Paiboon will outline the impressive growth story of the Thai capital market. The Stock Exchange of Thailand has so far outperformed global bourses, thanks to continued earning growth. With chiefs of the Association of Securities Companies, the Association of Thai Listed Companies and the Association of Investment Management Companies, he would answer all questions from the investors.
Yingluck will be accompanied by a big delegation.
The delegation comprises Kittirat Na-Ranong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Boonsong Teriyapirom, Minister of Commerce; Prasert Boonchaisuk, Minister of Industry; Chadchart Sittipunt, Minister of Transport; and Tossaporn Serirak, Government Spokesman.
